Day's Echo ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. What we collect

  • Email address — required to send you the daily digest and sign-in links. You can use any email, including anonymous ones.
  • Diary entries — the text you write in replies or through the app. Stored on our server.
  • Tasks and reminders — task text and dates you add in replies.
  • Settings — preferred language, notification time, birth date (for life counter, optional).
  • Analytics — only with your consent: anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics 4 and Yandex.Metrika.

We do not collect: name, phone number, location, payment data, or device fingerprints.

2. How we use your data

  • Send you the daily diary digest email
  • Send sign-in magic links
  • Send task reminders (when you set a date+time)
  • Show your entries in the app
  • Improve the product (analytics, with consent only)

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties, except as needed to operate the service (email delivery via SMTP).

3. Data storage and security

Data is stored on a dedicated server. Access is restricted to the service operators. We use HTTPS for all connections. Diary entries are stored in plain text — we recommend not writing information that could cause serious harm if disclosed.

4. Cookies

We use only necessary cookies (session management). Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Yandex.Metrika) are loaded only with your explicit consent via the cookie banner. You can change your preference at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom left of the page.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

  • Access — request a copy of all data associated with your email
  • Deletion — request full deletion of your account and all entries
  • Portability — export your diary entries
  • Objection — opt out of analytics at any time via cookie settings

6. Data retention

We store your data as long as your account is active. After an account deletion request, data is removed within 30 days. Analytics data in Google and Yandex is governed by their respective retention policies.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
